How to Use the Sleeve Clamp for Leak Testing:

Step 1: Prepare the Suit

  • Lay immersion suit on clean work surface

  • Insert sleeve cones into arms/legs to smooth fabric
  • Fully close zippers and secure all closures

Step 2: Attach Clamps

  • Position wrist clamps over seal areas

  • Tighten clamps to create air-tight seal

  • Ensure clamps are snug but not over-tightened

Step 3: Connect Test Equipment

  • Attach face clamp to hood opening

  • Connect pressure gauge and manual inflator pump

  • Inflate suit to 0.7–1.4 kPa (approximately 3–6 inches water column)

Step 4: Inspect for Leaks

  • Brush soap solution along seams, zippers, and clamped seals

  • Watch for bubbles indicating air leakage

  • Mark leak points for repair

  • Note: Small bubbles at zipper ends are acceptable per test guidelines

Step 5: Complete Testing

  • Deflate suit slowly after inspection

  • Remove clamps and cones

  • Dry suit thoroughly before storage
